Although soft, marble, travertine, limestone plus other soft stones can be used for countertops. PLEASE NOTE: you can expect natural variations in color, pattern, shade and texture. Slabs have inclusions of many kinds including cracks, fissures, pit holes, dull/shiny spots, veins/gaps sometimes filled with resin, variations in feel/texture, factory repaired cracks, plus more and none of these are to be viewed as unacceptable. All stone will show wear and no stone is indestructible. Being a product of nature, each piece is unique in character.
